Green and Evergreen: Annual Dinner

The Oxford University Malaysia Club (OUMC) held its Annual Dinner for alumni, current members and incoming students this year at the Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur on Friday, 9 September. The theme for the dinner was Green and Evergreen, signifying the flourishing vigour that both the old and new members embody.

The evening began with a pre-dinner drinks reception, giving our members the chance to socialise with one another and the new incoming students. After dinner, our guest of honour, Omar Mustapha Ong, of Ethos & Company and a founding father of OUMC, delivered his address; recounting his fond memories in Oxford — where he read Politics, Philosophy and Economics — and gave our incoming students much-appreciated words of wisdom.

At the end of the evening, the incoming students were presented with cacti as gifts, in keeping with the green theme of the event. Coffee and tea were served after, providing more opportunity to make new friends and forge professional networks.

We would like to thank YTL Corporation Berhad for generously sponsoring the evening’s events.
