The Oxford University Malaysia Club held its 22nd Annual Dinner on the 27^th of September, at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Kuala Lumpur. The dinner served a dual purpose – to allow Oxonians past and present to gather and reminisce, while also introducing our incoming Freshers to the Malaysian community at Oxford.

We had the pleasure to welcome as guests of honour the Executive Committee of the Oxford and Cambridge Society of Malaysia, represented by Mr Mark Disney, Mr Simon Marshall, and Ms Elizabeth Lee. We also had the privilege of hosting His Excellency Mr Shigeru Nakamura, Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia (and an alumnus of University College), and Dr Anne Mullen, Senior Tutor at St Anne’s College. Thanks also to the priceless support of our Platinum sponsors, YTL Corporation, our new Oxonians were able to attend for free, while current students received a generous discount.

The event began with a drinks session, followed by dinner. In his address, the President of the OUMC for 2013/14, Mr Shaun Kua, detailed the various outreach activities and speaker events organised by the OUMC during the summer vacation. Mr Mark Disney then spoke as the guest-of-honour of the evening, bidding welcome to the incoming students. His speech was followed by a formal introduction and photo session of the the newest additions to the Malaysian family at Oxford.
