The Oxford University Malaysia Club (OUMC) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) this year on Saturday, 12 May, at Pembroke College, Oxford.

The AGM began with Outgoing President, Ahmad Helmi Azhar, giving a brief summary of the year’s events and milestones; after which, proceeded to thank his committee and the members of the Club for a successful year. The rest of the AGM was chaired by Ho Wan Ying, Outgoing Secretary, who served as the Election Officer.

The candidates for President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer were each given several minutes to present their manifestos, following which, they were questioned by members of the floor. Voting was done after the proceedings for each post were completed. Members of the floor were provided with voting cards, and online voting was open until the voting cards were collected.

The results of the 2012 Annual General Meeting are as follows:

• President: Shivanand Sivamohan, Law, St John’s College
• Vice President: Wong Leong Khim, Physics, Mansfield College
• Secretary: Shaun Kua Keng Hian, Law, Balliol College
• Treasurer: Tan Li Li, Psychology and Philosophy, The Queen’s College

The following positions were appointed by the new incoming committee:

• Welfare Officer: Goh Jun Wan, Physics, The Queen’s College
• Postgraduate Officer: Mohammad Firdaus Abdul Aziz, Law and Emerging Technologies (D.Phil), St Edmund Hall
