Oxbridge Malaysian Games 2014

On the 4th May 2014, the annual Malaysian Oxbridge Games between the Oxford University Malaysia Club (OUMC) and Cambridge University Malaysia Society (CuMAS) was held in the University of Cambridge. The games is held annually and hosted alternately by OUMC and CuMAS. This year, it was organised by CuMAS and the Games comprises of basketball, netball, Frisbee, 5 on 5 football, badminton, table tennis and Scrabble. This annual competition is aimed at fostering relationships between Oxford and Cambridge Malaysians and continuing the tradition between students from both universities. The overall winner of the competition will keep a trophy that is passed down from previous Games, plus the honour of battling out in the age old rivalry between the universities.

OUMC managed to win Men’s table tennis and badminton, whilst the rest were won by CuMAS, hence the overall winner being CuMAS. This continues the trend of CuMAS dominating the proceedings for the past several years. The great sportsmanship from both sides and the friendship made the event a success. The Games will be held next year in Oxford and it is hoped in the future that the Games will continue to boost the relationship between the two clubs.
