In August and September, members of the Oxford University Malaysia Club conducted a series of outreach sessions to secondary school students in Malaysia.

Within the Klang Valley, members of the Club visited SMK USJ 12 and SMK Damansara Jaya to engage students currently in the Form 4 and Form 5 academic levels. On the other side of the Peninsula, Biomedical Sciences finalist Lim Mei Chee was hosted by Yayasan Terengganu to hold a seminar to engage Form 5 students from several secondary schools in Terengganu. Points covered during the outreach sessions include the uniqueness of the collegiate system in Oxford and how it underpins the effectiveness of the tutorial system, the vibrancy of the co-curricular scene in Oxford, and most importantly the key growth-stimulating steps which secondary school students can take to best position themselves for an Oxford education in the future.

The Club sincerely thanks all relevant school and governmental authorities for being the warmest of hosts during the outreach sessions, and hopes that members of the student audience today can become the OUMC members of tomorrow.
